2001 Breedlove Ed Gerhard Signature
Breedlove Ed Gerhard Signature, made in Bend, Oregon, USA, 2001, serial number 203 of 3808. Special Edition. Label signed by Ed Gerhard and Steve Henderson. Cutaway jumbo body with Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and koa binding. 25-1/5"-scale mahogany neck with 20-fret ebony fingerboard, 1-3/4" wide at the nut. While wide across the lower bout, this guitar has a thin body measuring 3" at the neck and 4-1/16" at the end block. Original hardshell case. Excellent condition. Est. $2,400–$2,900
With its rounded cutaway, asymmetrical headstock, and asymmetrical, dual-scimitar shaped bridge, this Ed Gerhard Signature model has an unmistakable look. This guitar’s original electronics were replaced with a K&K Pure Mini in 2020, and earlier in its life, Breedlove repaired the original JLD bridge truss, redressed the frets, and adjusted the action. The action is somewhat high, but plenty of saddle remains for adjustment. It’s in very clean condition but has two visible streaks on the neck where the case’s neck supports bled purple color into the neck finish.
