Scottish Songs for Guitar: Glenlogie

The lovers in this story were likely based on real people, but by the time the ballad was first written down, in the 1820s, there were multiple variants of every name and place name in the story. In this version, the guitar plays the melody right along with the sung melody, and there’s wonderful rhythmic tension as you play with the vocal phrasing over the regularity of the guitar part.
