This National Resophonic Style O Custom 2000 is from Acoustic Guitar magazine's 10th Anniversary Collection.

This 10th Anniversary Collection guitar from National Reso-Phonic exhibits meticulous craftsmanship and one-of-a-kind resonance. The impressive sound of this uniquely styled instrument comes from a single hand-spun aluminum resonator or speaker cone. The cone mechanically amplifies the vibration of the strings, making the Style O Deluxe one of the warmest, loudest guitars around.

Complementing the rich sound of this guitar are the details of its design. The neck is made of flamed maple with a sunburst finish, and the solid peghead has an ebony overlay with a bound ivoroid border. Acoustic Guitar's 10th Anniversary logo is crafted of red abalone and gold and white mother-of-pearl and inlaid into the peghead. White mother-of-pearl appears again in the cover for the adjustable truss rod and the diamond-shaped position markers inlaid in the ivoroid-bound fretboard. The Waverly tuners feature ivoroid buttons, and the heel cap is overlaid with ivoroid and ebony.

Altogether a true work of art, the National Reso-Phonic Style O Deluxe is a gem in the Acoustic Guitar 10th Anniversary Collection. From the traditional Hawaiian scenes etched into its sheet brass, nickel-plated body to the bold sounds of the single speaker cone, the Style O Deluxe is as special as they come.

Year 2000

From the December 2000 issue of Acoustic Guitar Magazine:

Another classic instrument came to us from National Reso-Phonic, the California-based company that has successfully transported metal-bodied resonator guitars into the 21st century. National built us an ornately engraved custom Style O Deluxe constructed of nickel-plated brass and featuring a traditional Hawaiian motif. The guitar’s one-of-a-kind tone and remarkable volume are both generated by its biscuit- type single resonator. The guitar’s neck is hand-carved from hardrock maple and features a hefty V shape that’s sure to please vintage aficionados. A custom solid headstock features the anniversary logo, and the engraved date leaves no question about the century of manufacture: 2000 A.D.
