Touch, tone, and time are three points to remember when playing slide guitar. Work on getting the least amount of ambient noise and the best possible tone and intonation out of individual notes. It’s very important to keep the thumb of your fretting hand behind the neck and to practice muting the string or strings being played with a light touch of the index finger behind the slide.
